  • Raiders of the Lost Ark in scope mono full length.
Unfortunately, Jeff Aikman didn't always have a lot of stereo sound prints. Maybe someday I can have it re-recorded. Still, a great one to have in the collection.

    • I've unfortunately not watched a lot of Super 8mm film as of late, but I did get a chance to project this a couple weeks ago! Anime on Super 8mm film! Not something I run across very often.

      • One very full 1200ft reel of cartoons tonight, the same as listed previous here on the Feb 3th. Many go back to when I bought them new in the 1970s and still look good

        • The Beloved Rogue, the 1927 film about the French poet François Villon, with John Barrymore. Although I used my modified GS (250 watt bulb) with a 1.0 lens, the picture on my screen looks less "black and white" than on the pictures taken with my telepone. Seems that nowadays those cameras are set to systematically "improve" the pictures, many people are probably not happy anymore with the reality (that's not my case and I enjoyed what I saw on my screen).

              • We watched my new aquisition last night, "Snow White", a Betty Boop cartoon. The nice thing about this one is that it is the original black n white full length cartoon, not colorized.

                    Casino Royale (1967) - 400' Piccolo Film

I'm re-recording this one to show at the upcoming CineSea. The Piccolo editors totally cut Peter Sellers out of this digest, however it's still fun and that Burt Bacharach score is really catchy!

                    • Doug Would have loved to see that on screen. It's a curious film but as you say still a fun one.

Having just watched the new 4K BR of Maltese Falcon we enjoyed a evening of those great WB films on S8 on the trusty Eumig 824.
                      S8.
Yankee Doodle Dandy and Maltese Falcon very enjoyable day.

                      • The 200ft of Easter Parade (a bit pale but no real colour shift) and the 2x400ft of Fame (A bit brown now).

                        • My newest aquisition ... The Ten Commandments 3X400ft Marketing Films! Interestingly, while the color is spot on, some of the special effects shots just don't look great. Alright, I know, it's 1956 special effects, but they really did a good job on the restoration for the Blu-ray, but the rest of the film is really great. Very good blacks to the image, somewhat uncommon for a Marketing Films print, To be honest.

                          • The classic War of the Gargantuas - 200' Piccolo Film

Nice color, OK edit except for the rushed ending.

                            • For Easter the ' Scope om & Jerry "Happy go Ducky" where the easter bunny leaves them a duck egg that hatches giving them loads of trouble. (Derann print with lovely colour). Which inspired me (by the line where the Duck stabs Tom in the rear with a kitchen knife and says "Touche Pussy Cat") to watch the Cieavision print of that title which though rather pale now, still has all its colours.

                              • Thought I better give the GS1200 a run tonight, they don't like not being used. I screened a past made up Elmo 1200 foot reel full of Mickey Mouse shorts.

All the Derann Disney prints are stunning bought new from Derann. The only two that are not a Derann release but still look very good, are "The Band Concert" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". I must have spent a small fortune on films back then, they were well worth it.

One thing I have never done since the 1970s was to sell of any Disney or Tom and Jerry films, always kept those
